Arlington, Virginia United States
A first generation American, Ruth Boyer O'Dea was raised in upstate New York and Palm Beach county, Florida. Arriving in D.C. in 1984 to attend Georgetown University, Ruth earned both her Bachelor of Arts and her Master in Public Policy (Environmental Regulation). With an excellent mind for details, she was hired by Georgetown to facilitate their migration to an on-line computer system; and then by Georgetown Law Center to become Registrar. Courted by both Harvard and Stanford Law Schools, Ruth instead left academic life to become the National Sales Manager for ExamSoft Worldwide, Inc. While traveling nationally and to Canada for work, Ruth remained connected to her community by volunteering with Lift-Me-Up, a therapeutic riding program for children with disabilities, and working at the ever-popular Arlington landmark, The Italian Store. Ruth has been a strong force in the North Arlington real estate market since 2002. As an associate broker, Ruth has earned both Life Member of the Multi-Million Dollar Club and Residential Top Producer designations. Ruth is valued by her fellow Realtors, clients and friends as an invaluable advisor. During her real estate career, Ruth has worked with Mickey Simpson Builders, Ltd, Griffin Head Renovation & Design, and Sheridan & Associates on new construction projects, as well as homebuyers and sellers. Her interest in the environment resulted in her earning an EcoBroker designation. Ruth has lived in DC, Reston, and Falls Church, but is a long-time resident of Lyon Village in the Clarendon neighborhood of N. Arlington. Ruth currently serves as Chair of the Lyon Village Community House Association, Inc. where she gives annual presentations to civic associations on real estate, green topics, and staging. Ruth and her husband Francis have also been foster parents through the Arlington Foster Care Program. Ruth's love of friends, family, and food sees her enjoying her free time with her chef husband and their teenage daughter entertaining in their home. On any given morning you may find her enjoying a cup of coffee at the Lyon Village Starbucks, discussing real estate topics.
